Day #1 of Cousin Fun

When looking at the end of the school year fast approaching and me feeling like I had no idea how I was going to occupy both kids all day long for 3 months, I promptly got on the phone with my Sister-in-law and asked her if we could come out for a visit in July.  You see, they live 5 hours away from us and more often then not they come in to Phoenixville or Allentown, where my parents live, to visit.  My side of the family all live in the eastern part of the state or in New Jersey.  We usually only make it out to Wexford on the kids' birthday party.  So, this is an extremely long overdue visit.

Well, Brian and I decided that I should come out in the middle of the week and then he would join us for the weekend.  On Wednesday, I packed up the car and the kids and we headed west.  It took 6 hours, but that was with a lunch break and two stops for bathroom breaks.  But we made it and laid pretty low that first afternoon.

Thursday was the first full day of us being here.  We decided to go to the Pittsburgh Zoo.  It was hot but so much fun.  I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Afterwards we stopped at an old fashioned ice cream parlor.  After a hot day in the sun, it was the best thing anyone could hope for.  The kids LOVED it!!

After dinner, the kids all got baths and jammies and settled in to watch a movie.  Of course, with all the outside fun the kids were pretty tired.  OK, who am I trying to kid.  The adults were pretty tired so we put the kids to bed early so we could go to bed early.

It was a great start to our visit.  So much more fun to come in the days ahead!!
