Birthday re-caps

Well, we have officially made it through the next biggest thing to Christmas in our house.  That is the month of April, where we have not one but all 4 of our birthdays.  Mine starts out the celebratory month.  I asked for some new gardening gloves and some seeds that I could plant with the girls.  I got a great pair of gloves.  The girls also decided I needed new socks, so I received 24 pair of socks.  The best part, they were each filled with chocolate.  Yum.  And to finish it off we went out to dinner.

The next to celebrate was Rebecca.  Her birthday fell on a day she had pre-school and she took a treat to school to share.  When she got home, her friends were arriving for her small friend party.  She had such a nice time.  It was a big step for her, considering last year she only wanted a family party.  She has come a long way with developing friendships and it was so nice to see her interacting with them outside of school.

Then she had a nice dinner of Boston Market Mac-n-Cheese and opened gifts from all of us.  Hard to believe she is four.  I am really enjoying 4 so far.  She is a sweet, gentle, strong-willed and beautiful girl. We are truly blessed to have her in our family.

The next in line was Emma.  She just turned six.  I am having an even harder time with that than Rebecca turning four.  Emma's birthday fell over Spring Break, so we saved her treat for the return to school.  We celebrated the day up at her Nana and Gramp's in the morning and then back home with the four of us in the evening for a little home-made pizza.

She had her friend party a week later.  Of course, she had a puppy themed party.  She was allowed to have six friends come, but chose to have only four; two from school and two from the neighborhood.  She made pizza, played a few games, had a cupcake cake and then opened her gifts.  Emma is such a sensitive, caring, and smart little girl.

Then to finish it off was Brian's birthday.  It was a pretty low-key day since he had to work.  But we took him to Iron Hill Brewery for dinner, which he loves.  We came home and the girls helped him unwrap a few gifts.  His big gift was tickets to the NCAA wrestling championships in Philadelphia back in March.  He got to spend 3 full days with his best friend in the whole wide world.  Other than that it was a few shirts, some art the girls made for him and a cool multi-tool thing-a-ma-jig.

Sometimes I wonder what I have done to deserve such a great family.  I am incredibly blessed with each of them.  Happy birthday to all of us!!
