And it comes to an end...

No, not the world.  Just a little piece of Rebecca's world.  Today was her last day of preschool.  I think the best way to describe Rebecca's year is to tell you that every single day that she had school, she would say that she hated school and didn't want to go.  And yet every day when I met her at my neighbor's house (who so graciously picked up Rebecca so that I could get Emma onto the bus) she would have a huge smile on her face and go into every detail of the day, including who got on the better choice bench.

Well, this morning when we were making a big deal out of it being her last day of school and that she would not have to get up and get moving to go to school, she promptly said, "But I love school."  Oh, so this whole time it has just been a guise??

She has had a fantastic year and I couldn't be prouder of her.  She has done a lot of growing up this past year.  She is throwing so many less tantrums than at the beginning of the year.  She has learned a lot about self control and having to share.  She has made her first true friends; gone are the days of parallel play.  She has had several play dates with said friends and is looking forward to some more during the summer.  She is writing so many things with help and learning how to embrace her little eccentric self.  I love her personality, strong will and all.

And so, we face a summer together and as I really struggle with Emma going on to first grade and no longer having any one on one time with her, I will cherish every minute that I can spend with each of them and consciously plan dates with them.

I am so thankful that Rebecca had two teachers who love children enough to want to teach them, not only about letters and colors and shapes, but also about the love of God.

As we were putting Rebecca to bed tonight she said, "Mommy, I want to go to school tomorrow."  I am so glad to hear that.
