LBI Weekend with the family

I find it hard to believe that I haven't published a blog post in over a month, but I guess I feel there just isn't that much interesting in my life.  I am sure that is not true, but time just seems to fly right by.

The big adventure this past month was a long weekend down to Long Beach Island, NJ to help celebrate my uncle's 70th birthday and a little celebration on his successful knee replacement surgery.

We had some quality time at the beach with the kids and two of their cousins.  My brother and his family drove in from Wexford (8 hours) to spend some time with us.  It was wonderful to see them and the cousins take no time at all reacquainting and getting right into playing and having a great time.

Brian, I and the girls went down to Barnegat Lighthouse to show the girls where it all began.  Well, at least the part where Brian proposed to me.  The girls were amazing and climbed all 217 steps to the top.  They didn't seem as excited about the "Daddy asking Mommy to marry him" part.  Then again, we weren't all that thrilled when we were kids and our parents did the same thing to us.  What goes around comes around I guess.

Well, here are a few pictures of our trip.

Our Little Sand Mermaids

God's Sandbox and all the fun that goes along with it.

The beginnings of being buried under the sand.

Past the point of caring whether or not they get wet.

Feeding the seagulls with their Great Aunt Barbara.

The kids' Great Uncle Bob turned 70.  All the kids are bathed and in jammies so it is cake time.

Post cake quiet time before the drive back to the hotel.

Gramps collected seashells for the grandkids and let them go through and choose what they wanted.

We are at the top of Barnegat Lighthouse.  Very windy and cold.

Daddy and his Baby Girl.

And she's off!

Fun was had by all!
