Emma is SO excited that her birthday is coming. She has every last detail planned out, including the fact that Chessie the turtle probably should not have a turn hitting at the pinata because he might get hurt. (So thoughtful) Rebecca is just starting to understand what a birthday is but doesn't remember her last one so isn't sure how a birthday will effect her little world.
What the girls do not realize is that Brian and I are getting them a swing set for their birthdays. A few weeks ago I took them to Superior Play Systems in Norristown for what they thought was just playing around on a bunch of jungle gyms. I would ask Emma questions like, "Which one do you like better?" or "What do you like about that swing set?" Neither one understood that you could actually buy one of them.
Well, the company called last night to ask if they could move up the installation to Monday instead of Tuesday. Of course I said yes, because I am so excited to see the girls' faces as this set gets built. Emma has school in the morning, so for her she will come home and see the work underway.
I am also being a little selfish with this purchase as well. I am looking forward to them being able to play in our back yard and not bothering our neighbors on their swing set. We do have phenominal neighbors in our block and I know that no one minds that we use each other's things, but it will be nice to work in my own garden and see the kids right next to me rather than across the yard. They are both of the age where I don't have to be as concerned about them climbing around and on things as I used to.
Now I just need to remember to take the pictures off of our camera so that I have some space available to capture their faces when they are allowed to play on it for the first time. Of course some rules will need to be established from the get-go, but the hours of entertainment is going to be so much fun for all of us.
Stay tuned for pictures!!

It looks great from my view! Kaitlyn wanted to go over and play right away, but I explained to her that we should let the girls have their swing set to themselves for a little bit. I know you wouldn't have minded, but she understood. We were going out anyway. Now all the kids will be invading your yard in the afternoons!
She could have come down. The Zink's and Smith's were out later on. I think they had fun. It is long overdue that our yard be invaded. We have been invading everyone else's for 4 years now.
