We just returned from another great family "mini" vacation.  This trip really helped me to see just how important family is and how much fun it is to watch new experiences through the eyes of a child.  Our first stop was Grandpa's house.  We told Emma that if the weather was nice we could do a camp out.  So before we left we got a book out of the library about it so she knew what to expect.  We had the best weather possible for camping out.  The stars up there are some like no where else.  There is absolutely no extraneous light in the middle of Sigel, so you can see more stars than you ever thought possible.  Emma and Brian slept out the first night and she and I slept out the second night.  What fun!!  She just had a blast and slept REALLY well.  Nothing like fresh country air.  She also got to pick black raspberries from Grandpa's property and we saw a six point buck that we could have hit with a stone because he was so close.  We had a picnic with Brian's brother and his family at Grandpa's house.  The girls had a great time playing with all the outside toys Uncle Keith brought.  We played corn hole, ladder, etc.  As you can tell by the pictures, Emma decided that the top of the A frame of Grandpa's swing looked exactly like a balance beam and therefore had to be climbed.  What an adventure that was!  The rule quickly became Grandpa on one side and Daddy on the other.
