Fun with the cousins

This is a little late, but better late than never.

Two weeks ago, my sister-in-law drove into Allentown, PA to stay with my parents until my brother arrived for their children's surprise birthday party.  The party was to be held at our house as it is kid friendly with lots of room out back for them to run around.

My brother and sister-in-law very carefully planned out activities for each day so that there would be lots of new experiences on their summer vacation.  They invited the family to participate in whatever they could.  We were able to go with them to two places; the Adventure Aquarium and Lehigh Valley Zoo.

I think for me the highlight of the entire week was seeing how much fun the cousins all had together.  There are six kids, ages 2-6.  Since I never had cousins, it has been really fun to see what that family relationship is all about.  What fun that they can be apart from each other for months at a time and then without the blink of an eye be right back in the mix with each other without so much as a shy moment.

Below are some pictures of the many fun moments we shared throughout the week.  This is what life is all about.

Nathan's big sleepover at our house.

Water balloon fun!

You mean that cake is for us!?!?

5 of 6 cousins being extremely silly.

No one can grow!  They really squeezed to get into this chair.

Rebecca wanted to be closer but was a little scared of the ledge.

Rebecca and Rachel sharing a quiet moment.  (Not a common occurrence for these two.)

There must have been something super spectacular in this exhibit for all of them to be standing still.

Nana and Gramps with their brood of grandchildren.

The entire Cottrell Family!  What a gift to have us all together.  Thanks Glenn and Char for giving us the reason to do this.
