Just a funny little thing that happened today. Rebecca and I were at her gym class. For the past two classes, she has been very squirrelly in class; not sitting still, not paying attention like she usually does. Another indication that perhaps she is going through a growth spurt.
Things that she normally has no trouble doing and has, on occasion, gotten her high praise in class, suddenly she can't do. For example, walk across the balance beam. She has had amazing balance most of her life, but suddenly she can't get from one end to the other.
She was rushing through everything today and the teacher kept telling her to slow down and concentrate. Fortunately, the teacher was awesome and found humor in Rebecca's little quirks today. Anyway, I am watching Rebecca run through stuff without any attention to form of any kind and I hear the teacher say, "Rebecca, I believe you are the kind of kid that is more interested in quantity rather than quality." I nearly fell off of the bleachers because she nailed my kid on the head in about 5 minutes flat. Mind you this is a teacher that has never had Rebecca in class before. She was filling in for her regular teacher. I just shook my head and nodded.
I think I am going to get t-shirts made with Rebecca's new life motto:
I am about quantity, not quality.
